The African botanicals

Present, never loud.

African botanicals can be remarkably potent, so we use them with restraint - adding a distinctive sense of place and character without ever overpowering the fragrance.

African immortelle: Known locally as imphepho and traditionally burnt as protective ritual incense smoke. Herbaceous and honeyed, with a warm, tea-like character.
Buchu betulina: Fresh, green and earthy, with the wild aromatic character of Cape fynbos. It brings a distinctive sense of the Cape landscape to the fragrance - deep, grounding and beautifully untamed.
Cape chamomile: Soft, herbaceous and gently sweet, Cape chamomile carries the aromatic character of the Cape fynbos landscape, bringing warmth, softness and a subtle wildness to the fragrance.
African rose geranium: Rosy, green and beautifully fresh, African rose geranium brings the scent of sun-warmed leaves and aromatic landscapes, adding a bright floral freshness with a distinctly African character.
Leleshwa: Wild and aromatic, Leleshwa brings woody, herbaceous freshness with a cool, clean edge - a distinctive botanical expression of the East African landscape.
Kraakbos: Wild, green and gently resinous, capturing the aromatic character of the South African landscape, adding an earthy warmth that sits beautifully beneath softer florals.
Katafray: Warm, dry and quietly woody, Katafray carries the character of Madagascar’s wild landscapes, adding an earthy, understated depth to the fragrance.
